40 40 40

This post will bring us to date!!

Tim turned 40 this last week.  Some people struggle with turning 40, but Tim and I are actually looking forward to our 40's. We had a nice day.  He took the day off work and he wanted to just have a nice relaxing day at home and that's what we did.  We made him cinnamon rolls for breakfast and steak and crab legs for dinner.  Of course I made him his lemon cake and chex mix.  We ended the day with going to a movie.  Tomorrow (Sunday) we are having an office BBQ at one of the beaches to celebrate the Coast Guards birthday and Tim's.

Yummy Chex Mix
Funny thing is Tucker our boy cat is the only one Tim will share it with.  I guess he ranks higher than me and the kids LOL.

We got him a pillow for our hammock.  He always takes our throw pillows out there so when I found this online I was pretty excited.

We also had a coin holder made for him.  In the military you receive coins that you earn or are given and collect.  Most people display them in their offices.  I had one made and had Semper Paratus put on the bottom of it (The CG Moto, it means always ready).

Steak and Crab Legs for dinner.

I forgot to add this one earlier.  In June we went tot he Army Ball.

Catch Up Time post 3

The Coast Guard Ship The Eagle was here. We have always wanted to see this ship.

The boys got coins

It has a great feel to it almost like you are on a Pirate ship

Simon being silly

Simon ended the year on the A B Honor Roll

Father's Day silly pose

Cast number 2 went for black for the last 3.

We went on a boat and down the river with friends. The Seefeldts and the Alexanders, both have moved and we miss them.  One to WA state the other to Germany!

So this is the end of the River well not the end but as far as we can go.  We expected a bigger bridge and more warning of not to go past.  It was a nice relaxing ride out there.

This is the little sign posted on the middle of the bridge to let you know not to go any farther.

4th of July concert then fire works.  Amazing fire works here.  Honestly the best we have seen anywhere.

Paige and Mom at the concert.
I should mention Paige finished the year with a 4.0!

Nixon found a way to still go to the beach even with a cast on!  Tim lifted him up into this rock and it had a little pool in the top.

Nixon called it his hot tub. Ahhh This is the life!
I think this is cast number 3 a short one finally.

This is our buddy Spike.  He lives across the street in the brush.  He comes over and eats the mangos that fall in the yard next to us.  This was after he just shook one to pieces.  He gets it all over himself.  He also loves carrots.  He will now come over when we call him.  I think he is so cute!

Nixon and I were bored one Sunday afternoon.  Nobody else wanted to go so we took off to find this beach we had never been to, pebble beach.  You get to it by a path from another beach.

There is a huge Banyan Tree here kind of hidden that a friend told us about so we checked it out on the way home.  Love the tire swing!

We took Simon back to the tree later so he could enjoy the tire swing too.

The tree is huge this is only part of it.  Reminded me of the one in Maui although that one is bigger and covers more area of course.

Tim and I started out our morning at Girl Scout Beach with a cup of coffee and watched the waves.  He had the day off so we got up early and went.  By 9:30 you loose all the shade.  This beach has big pieces of sea glass and tons of it.

Well that brings us almost all the way to date.  It's 2am so I need to head to bed.  Internet works a tad faster in the wee hours LOL.  I may add a few more tomorrow!  Hope you are all having a great summer.

I will see how many pics I can get on today!  We will start with Paige's birthday so we are to May!

Paige is officially a teenager she turned 13!

These are all her crazy friends!!  A fun group of kids.

For Mother's Day we went to the driving range!  I love golf so I am glad my boys do too!

Windmill Beach at 7:00 AM  it was gorgeous out!  Our good friend was re-enlisting in the Army and asked us to be at his ceremony.  Really an honor he asked.  We miss you Seefledts (they moved in June)

Our first broken arm!  Nixon broke 2 bones just around his wrist.  This was cast #1 of 4 and ended up 8 weeks instead of 6.  He went for the Camo colored one. Good choice on a military base LOL.

We celebrated our 19th Anniversary. We have now been together over half our lives.  We met on the 4th of July 1991
Does that mean we are getting old LOL

Nixon got a most cooperative award for the year in his class. His teacher is on the left and Vice Principle on the right.

The Best Fieldtrip Ever for a 7yr Old Boy!!!!!!
Only in GTMO!  They received an official letter from the Marines to show up for training to be a Devil Dog and then completed the training and received a certificate

That's my boy, on his own did one arm push ups because his arm was in a cast.  They started them out with some warm up workouts then off to training stations.

One was throwing practice grenades.  You had to throw them in the designated area and then duck down for cover. What boy wouldn't love that!

They each got a real MRE meal and cooked them up and ate them.  They have heating elements inside them.  Really cool actually and the food was hot.

Oh yeah these are the real deal not toy fake ones.  A couple of the Marines told me that was one of their newest sniper riffles and they hadn't gotten to train on it yet.  Seriously one fun field trip.  They had other stations to and ended with a rope tug of war.

Baseball awards

Yay baseball
Alright I am going to take a break since those pics to a few hours to all load!  I will be adding more later today or tomorrow!
