Christmas and New Years 2020

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
2020

I love decorating for Christmas!!

Tim decorated the whole tree by himself this year!  He was so sweet to help me out with that.  He did a wonderful job might I add!  Maybe a new tradition lol

Opening the family Christmas Eve gift

Watching Elf like we do every Christmas Eve

Somehow I got them to still leave cookies and milk for Santa!

Stockings are filled

Santa left some gifts

Time to open stockings

Passing out gifts

This boy loves blankets and had so many piled on his bed we finally gave him a weighted blanket!

One can never have too many lightsabers!

We actually got snow on Christmas day!  I guess it's the first time they have gotten snow on Christmas day here since the 80's.

Merry Christmas 2020

Christmas dinner

What better way to end a wonderful Christmas day than with a a lightsaber battle!

These 2 love love love the fireplace and their bed in front of it.  Once in a while, they will both sit on it together but they tend to take turns.  Sometimes they fight over it.  Usually one will get too hot the other will move in then get too hot and they switch spots.

New Years

Paige drove up to spend new years with us which was an absolute treat! This year has been tough and it was so nice to get to start it off altogether.

Paige and Tim in the kitchen making cinnamon rolls

I love it when all my kids are together!

Proof that they do share the fireplace sometimes!

We hope this finds you all doing well!

November - mid December 2020

Thanksgiving 2020
We hopped in the car for a 13-hour drive and went to Paige's for the week of Thanksgiving.  The boys' school is all virtual so we just logged in from her place and decided to stay the whole week.  Everything was in lockdown mode so we were very careful on the way down and didn't go out much there.  She was also in all virtual school and hadn't gone anywhere so we were not too concerned about catching Covid from her or Josh or passing it onto them since we had all been in lockdown mode.  It was a much-needed break and visit in the midst of a not-so-great school year
These rockstars slept most of the way! They timed it so they stayed up until 3am when we left so they would be able to sleep most of the way. These guys have always been good at long car rides.

Yay together for Thanksgiving!
Goofball Dad!
Making the Turkey!
6 people fit fine in a one-bedroom apartment!
Pie and Whipcream time!
For a Christmas gift, we bought Paige a bookshelf and brought her her beloved book collection!
They built it together.
She was so excited to have her books and went right into organizing them!
We also got her a small recliner chair that she and Tim put together.
Relaxing at Sis' house playing some video games.
Finally, Tim got his favorite meal!  Gus's Fried Chicken.
When you are sort of on vacation at your sister's, but you have 2 days of school to log in for.

The guys all playing basketball
Paige and I hung out in the park while they played until we got too cold and went and sat in the car!
The Christmas tree at Overton Park.
Before we left Paige and I got her tree and decorations up. I also got the stockings hung and Santa filled them early!

Nixon getting the leaves from the front yard to the back.  A never-ending task thanks to our front tree that is stubborn and keeps dropping leaves into January or February!

Nixon and Tim hanging our outside Christmas Lights!

Job well done!
I later added my window-lighted decorations but forgot to take a picture with them.

Making Fudge for friends and neighbors.

Tim's brother Steve was working in Richmond for a few days. We got to meet him for dinner one night for a fun quick visit!

Hope this post finds you all doing well in the midst of this crazy and tough year!
