White House Tour Nov.3 2018

White House Tour 2018
Thank you to Tim for applying for this for us!  It was a wonderful birthday present for me and something I have always dreamt of!  I loved every minute and every inch we got to see.  Simon kept laughing at me.  He said he has never ever seen me so excited over something.  They had to literally drag me down the driveway to leave (Not the Secret Service but the boys lol).  Okay for those who want to nerd out with me here are a ton of pictures!

This is at the beginning where you first walk in.

Right away the wonderful paintings start!  There is Nancy Reagan on the left! AHHHH are you nerding out already?  I am!!

I was just in Awe! Ground Floor Corridor.

Next to the Kennedy Garden, the Trumps built a soccer field for Barron.

So ready to head to the rooms through the Visitor Entrance.

Laura Bush!!

China Room.  There wasn't a table in there at the time but to the right would be a table and there is another cabinet in the wall on that side.

A sampling of some of the former Presidents' China including Lincoln's.

Library

Vermeil Room

Headed upstairs.  The rest of the bottom floor heads over the the West Wing so it was blocked off.

The East Room

East Room

It's also called the boxing room.  There is secret service stationed in each room and you can ask them questions. So I tried to ask each one what is a fun or little-known fact about each room.  This one was one President used to hold boxing matches in here, I forgot who sorry and don't want to miss quote.

The chandeliers and light fixtures throughout were amazing!  I took pictures of all of them but of course, didn't want to bore you all too much!

Green Room

Amazing gorgeous views!  Some with monuments depending where you were.

The Blue Room

I know the Blue Room for being where the White House Christmas Tree goes each year and great care and time are taken to take down the antique chandelier in here to anchor the tree to the top. I learned that on one of the White House Christmas shows years ago.

Blue Room.  They use all the rooms all the time so when they do tours they roll the edges of the carpets up and will move in the chairs. Then rope it off and if there are any chairs along the walls where you walk through they put ropes across them.  Gold ropes, not just any rope!

Red Room

I may have touched the wall in here.  I said may so shhh.  It is cloth!

State Dining Room

Lincoln!!

Still the State Dining Room.  The fun fact in here was you are standing on top of the White House Kitchen.

Reagan!!

Bush 43

Under the Presidential Seal.  The Blue Room is behind us and this is the Entrance Hall to the White House.

This is to the right of when you come through the Front Entrance.

This is to the left and I believe leads up to the Living Quarters if I remember right.

Then you walk out to this beauty!  The Iconic Chandalier on the front porch of the White House.  I love this thing!

I just could not believe I was standing on the front porch of the White House.

More beautiful landscapes in the front.

There she is!  Our wonderful flag that flies on the top of our White House as a symbol of freedom!

This is along the front driveway.

If you were to just be able to drive up to the White House this is the entrance and it curves around the whole front.

One last picture as they dragged me away lol!  Simon knew how important it was to me so took this pic with me!

The gates to leave

Okay fine I will leave!  I took my time walking along this part of the sidewalk because you can only walk on it if you are leaving the White House!
Well, there you have it!  A snapshot of our tour!  I took way way more pictures than I put in here!  But these were the highlights and all the rooms we got to go in.  Thanks for indulging me and taking the time to look at them!  Remember this is Our house.  It's the People's house.

Next post will be Christmas stuff.  Paige comes to visit for the first time this Friday for a week!!!  We can not wait to see her!  We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!
