Mid Summer Fun

It's the middle of summer break and we hope everyone is enjoying their's! Here are some pics from ours so far.

Tim got a new BBQ since our last one did not survive our move to here last summer. We went a year without one but finally broke down and got one with all the crab to boil and fish to cook!

This was our first crab fest from our first catch! Tim also grilled pork chops and yellow squash. It was Yummy!!

Happy 4th of July!! We went downtown for the parade.  It was a great small hometown parade.
Of course there was a pirate float! Beaufort has a historical pirate past which is celebrated here. Blackbeard lived here and his ship the Queen Anne's Revenge is sunken off the coast here.
Then at night we went down to a park to watch the Beaufort fireworks. It was perfect, not too crowded just a bunch of families out to see the show. We got a treat too, what we didn't realize was from Beaufort's location of their fireworks you could also see Morehead City's and Atlantic Beach's fireworks. So it was three shows in one!

After that we came home and Simon helped light our fire works with the neighbors across the street. They are a couple who live in New Jersey and have the house across from us as their vacation home. Last year we were brand new here and they had us over to do fireworks so we did it again this year.

And of course you gotta do the snakes!!
"Somebody likes the classics" (said in a Sid the Sloth's voice" :) gotta love Ice Age!

Simon did a week long band day camp with a concert at the end we got to watch!

We got to meet for lunch with 2 friends from GTMO and their kids. Lisa and Crystal. We were all there together and now one lives in Olympia WA the other in the DC area. There was supposed to be a fourth but she lives in Germany and tried to get on the space A flights 3 different days but could never get on one. We are sorry and missed you Kristen! Between all of us we represent the Coast Guard, Navy and Army!
All the GTMO boys! It was great to get to see them all.

Someone started football practices!! Go Chargers!

He is doing great and we are proud of him. One kid threw up the first day and on the second day one kid threw up 5 times! Simon did good though he made sure to keep hydrated knowing they would be out in the heat. He has never played before so we are glad he jumped in and is trying something new. This was the second day and as soon as he hopped out of the car started to stretch since the first day he was sore!!!

Nixon and I enjoy bike rides around the neighborhood and sometimes at night Paige joins us.

Tim made peanut butter and man is it good and nothing in it but raw peanuts!! He roasted them himself first.

Simon checking on our crab pot while Dad cleans a fish!
Tim caught this nice big red drum at work and brought it home to clean for dinner along with a bunch of crab and a flounder. We are eating good tonight!
I will finish this post with another funny Tucker picture! I call him a living pillow pet! LOL he is shaped just like a pillow pet when he lays like this and is just as soft and squishy!  Tucker buddy we love you!
