Paige and Simon waiting for the bus in our driveway. Man oh man does it come early 6:30! Two teenagers getting ready sharing a bathroom makes for an early morning!
Last days of summer...
Nixon and I decided to make the best of his last days and hung out in the pool for a good couple hours!
Happy 226th Birthday U.S. Coast Guard!
This unit for Coast Guard day held their event at a place called the Main Event. We had a blast. It had a ropes course, video games, bowling, laser tag, all kinds of fun.
Nixon did the ropes course I don't know how many times lol. It was above the video games so you were hooked in a harness and doing it above everyone.
Laser tag!! Ok so this was my first time ever and all I can say is where have you been all my life, laser tag? I loved it! We all loved it. We just kept going back in for more and more!
Oh what's this? Another Deadstorm Pirates??? What, it's gold and a special edition!! 2 new levels! Oh yeah! We beat it! If you read my last post you know what this game means to me and Paige and we usually only find it once every few years and we just found two in a row in the last month! We have beat the game at least 2 or 3 times now :) Best Game Ever!
Night before school starts...Our church rented this pool and had a BBQ and Baptisms. A couple built it on their property and rent it out to churches and groups. Along the stones are etched Bible verses. It's made to look like a natural pool. Really cool.
And a rope swing at the other. It also had a diving board next to the rope swing and a raft out in the middle. It's 24ft deep at its deepest point.
First day of school...
I will not candy coat it I will be honest, the first day was emotional for the boys. It will take some time to adjust. These schools are much bigger than any ones my kids are used to. The schools here are very strict with lots and lots of rules and very strict dress codes. Simon of course misses his friends and really felt at home at his last school. Nixon is feeling overwhelmed. Things will get better just gotta get used to everything. Paige has handled the transition from homeschool back to public school really well. She has a maturity level well beyond her years. She is just grabbing the bull by the horns and doing it! To go into a school of 1400 kids and not knowing a single one is scary and uncomfortable I know it. But she hasn't showed stress or much worry about it. The process to register her wasn't easy (or fair) and she had to take 9 tests, 3 days before school started. She said she knows the Lord was keeping her calm!
Paige, Simon and Nixon, we just want you to know Dad and I are proud of you and we know all this is hard, it's a struggle for us too. But as always we are Team Crothers and we will get through it!
Ok, next post should be the house. I have one more room to tackle, probably the hardest....Nixon's! :)
