Spring Break March 2021

 Disney World, Orlando FL

Spring Break, March 2021

We started off on our 11-12 hour drive straight to Orlando.  This reminded me of when they were little and we used to drive those 12 hour drives up to visit family.  This is the first vacation we have taken in about 4-5 years.  Unfortunately, Paige couldn't come with us.

We didn't stay on Disney property we stayed at a resort called Reunion.  It was a beautiful place and property, I could have stayed there forever!

We were on the ground floor and had this wonderful view and patio!

We hit the ground running!  Day 1 on the tram to the happiest place on earth!

We made it!  This was still when their capacity was limited, had to have reservations and masks required.  I have to admit the capacity limits were great it was not overcrowded like in pre-covid times.  For introverts like me that it can feel overwhelming to be in big crowds, this made a better experience.  We still managed to hit the busiest week due to Florida's 2 biggest school districts also having spring break that week.

Enjoying a LeFou's Brew at Gaston's Tavern

Epcot day!  Surprisingly Epcot was all 4 of our favorite park this trip.

Waiting in line for TestTrack.  Lines were still long and took as long as before due to social distancing.

The boys didn't want to go on this ride but we convinced them and we were all very pleased with it.  Even they said it was a great ride.  The line was LONG for it.

Pretzel time in Germany!

When you work for a "Bird" company you gotta take care of the birds!

All the different countries and architecture are so amazing and fun to walk through.

Japan

France made us miss Paige that much more. She was working on her Bachelor's in French at the time.

We found Remy!

They were building the new Ratatouille section.  We were so jealous and wanted to go in so bad.  Tim put his phone up over the construction wall and took this picture so we could see what all they were building.

Epcot Ball at night, So pretty!

A night swim back at the resort!

Star Wars Time!!!!

This trip was planned as a graduation gift for Simon.  He has always been a Star Wars fan. He took his Dad's love of it to a whole new level. He can talk your ear off for hours.  He knows all the history, lore. cannon and non-cannon.  If you need to know a Star Wars fact and he is your guy.

It was fun for me to watch them just be in heaven at every turn!

I amazingly got us in for Rise of The Resistance!! At this time because of restrictions, it was insanely hard to get in the virtual cue and actually get a reservation for it.  You had to have their app and park reservations for Hollywood Studios Park for that specific day (park hopping was not back yet). Then it opened on their app at 7am and a staff person told me it literally fills up in less than 10 seconds. She said you just need to click click click but make sure you have your whole party selected.  So I set an alarm for 6:30 am and watched my app closely and as soon as it opened I clicked like crazy and got in as 70 something boarding group.  No joke it filled up in 7 seconds. I went back to bed lol! We monitored the groups and headed to the park about an hour before we knew our group would be up and it worked out perfect!

This ride was THE MOST AMAZING RIDE EVER! There are no words to describe it.  It is the newest technology in rides.  It is so immersive and huge and incredible. I was honestly teared up at how awesome it was.  I really hope they make it easier for everyone to get into, every Star Wars fan should have the chance to experience this!

Time to ride the Millennium Falcon!

It made me so happy to watch them take it all in!

Simon and Nixon got to ride in the front, we got stationed behind them and I was informed I was horrible at my shots LOL! I was really bad!

Time for some Blue Milk!  It was so good!

Galaxy's Edge is just so wonderful!

The market area

Kennedy Space Center

Nixon loves space!  He was more excited to go here than Disney!  Simon decided to hang out and relax at the resort so it was just Tim, Nixon, and I for this adventure.

He was in his happy place!

Like Simon can talk all about Star Wars Nixon can talk about space and space programs.

He really enjoyed the day!

So, we didn't look into what all was there before we went.  Nixon had no idea he was going to see the Atlantis.  You are in an Imax room learning about it and then the one whole wall drops and there it is.  He was in such shock!  His eyes teared up and he could hardly talk. He couldn't believe it was right in front of him. It was pure joy on his face!

He couldn't believe he has now seen the Discovery and Atlantis in person!

It was awesome for us to walk around with him and watch him take it all in!

Piece of the Challenger's left fuselage

The Columbia's cockpit windows

In the gift shop, you can actually walk across part of Apollo 11's gantry. You get to walk where Neil Armstong and Buzz Aldrin did.

Enjoying a morning breakfast on our patio with the wonderful view.

Back to Disney

Time for some Splash Mountain!

Haunted Mansion time!

On to Mom's favorite ride!  Pirates of the Caribbean!

Refreshment break!  We happen to hit a heatwave while we were there.

A rainbow while walking through Magic Kingdom!  Doesn't get any more magical than that!

They sat down and played Sabacc (the cards game from Star Wars) while Mom and Dad went on more rides lol!

The Castle at night!

Main street at night and stopping to trade pins.

Riding the Ferry back to where we parked

Pool Day at the resort

I could sit and enjoy this view all day!

The boys were off in the lazy river and I could never find them for a picture LOL!

Last Night in Disney Springs

Part of Simon's graduation gift was letting him get to pick and build a lightsaber.  He picked Luke's.  Tim and Simon had a great time doing that while Nixon and I wandered around the shops.

It was a perfect ending to a great trip!

What an awesome vacation for the boys! Looks like you all had a great time! Florida’s nice, but I wouldn’t want to live there. Too muggy! These pictures make me miss you! Love you all. Mama G 😘❤️
