On December 19th Tim and I took the kids over to Yakima to stay with Grandma and Grandpa and then woke up early the next morning to make it back over the pass before it was shut down to get back to Seattle. Tim had scheduled a Ferry ride up to Victoria and booked us a room at the Empress. Their most famous fancy hotel. When we got back to Seattle the snow and ice was so bad we ended up booking a room in downtown Seattle for the night in order to be able to make it to the Ferry in the morning. So a one night get away turned into a two night get away. No complaints there!! We had a blast it was the first time in 4 1/2 years we were alone over night (2 actually). Here are some pictures of our fun.
It was just a short walk from the Ferry to the Empress pictured behind us.
It was the Festival of Trees there were over 20 or 30 different decorated trees to look at.
It was cold and very snowy but we just walked and walked and ate at some very nice restaurants and pubs.
Tim had booked a bus tour for us and at one point the tour guide stopped and bought some fish and gave it to me to feed a sea lion. She was so cute her face looked like a puppy dog. She was very gentle when she took the fish right out of my hand.
We had a great time Thank You Tim!!!
On to Christmas!!!!!!!!
Leaving cookies and milk for Santa.
Opening stockings!
Santa left Simon what he asked for... Batman Legos for the PS2.

My Dad and I played Blokus every night and Paige joined in some of the times.
We had lots of awesome snow here is Tim sledding.
Mine and Nixon's turn...
Simon loved it he didn't want to stop.
Paige's turn.
Nixon's turn by himself.
Our annual Christmas picture by Auntie Brook's tree with Dylan and Brady.
New Years Eve we went to a movie and dinner with Grandpa Joe and Grandma Pat and Grandma and Grandpa.
New Years Eve after midnight. They all made it and we got a good fireworks show right out the window.
We actually ended up staying an extra day in Yakima because of all the snow the pass was shut down so we made good use of the perfect packing snow that had fallen. Plus the kids were excited to stay one more night.
We had a great Christmas and hope you did too!
Also Tim and I became a Great Aunt and Great Uncle welcome to the family Brennan!!
