Lots and Lots of Fun Stuff

Okay grab a cup of coffee and here we go! We have been busy and it's been a while since I updated. I don't even know if it will all fit on one page! Lots of fun things have been going on for us.

Lets start with Spring Break and Easter

We started by coloring Easter Eggs before we left for a fun vacation!

We took an Amtrak train and bus from Seattle to Seaside Oregon to meet up with Grandparents for Spring Break and Easter.

On the train!

The kids had a blast and it's an easy way to travel and they let you take way more than an airline does!

We even had lunch in the dining car which was fun!

Waiting for the bus to take us the last hour and a half of our trip!

The bus ride was fun too!

At Haystack Rock on Nixon's birthday. It's one of his favorite places so it worked out great since we were just in Seaside we came down to Cannon Beach for a few hours.

We timed it just right and got there at low tide and all the tide pools were ready to be explored!

Nixon loves tide pools!

He also loves Mo's, because if he gets the grilled cheese it comes on a Frisbee he gets to keep! Also, you see Haystack Rock out the window. They sang to him and gave him ice cream.

Paige and Mommy made him a cake at the beach.

Making sand castles!

As we were walking along Cannon Beach the kids ran way ahead of us and as Tim got closer he noticed Simon praying. It was Holy Week so only a couple days before Easter and someone had built a cross out of driftwood. What a sweet boy he is and has a heart for God. We love you Simon!

We got some crazy nice weather while we were there as you can tell by the fact that I am in the pool. I am a wimp and won't go in unless it's warm. The water was even warm and I could get right in. I think the sun really warms it up. We went back down later in the day when the sun wasn't hitting the pool and it wasn't quite as warm.

Goofy Girl!

I am so pulling this photo out the next time these two argue! They had so much fun and were just having a ball playing together on the beach and being silly.

The kids loved the swings on the beach and every chance they could get they were on them.

Grandma and Grandpa have an awesome kite shaped like a wasp that we got to fly.

I think we found the worlds tallest Easter Bunny and he lives in Seaside Oregon. They had a community egg hunt the kids got to go to.

Simon at his. For some reason they wouldn't allow baskets or bags to put the eggs in so most the kids turned their sweatshirts around to put the eggs in the hood so they could carry them.

Nixon at his. They staggered the ages every 5 mins after each one was done which was nice for those of us who have 3 kids so we could see each one.

Paige at hers.

Here is what the Easter Bunny left at our condo Easter morning!

We went to the aquarium which is always a blast and fun to feed the seals. I did that every summer as a kid with my parents.

Simon really enjoyed tossing the fish to them.

Nixon loved it too!

Paige and Simon won 1st place for their age groups in a coloring contest at the resort we were at. They got stuffed bunnies and a bunch of candy. They also laminated the certificate on the back of the picture they drew which I thought was really nice of them to do.

We ended the week at the Maritime Museum on the way home in Astoria Oregon. They have a big Coast Guard section and this was inside by the front windows of the museum.

It's Fishing Season!!

Simon was the first to get to go out with Dad fishing.

Paige caught her first fish and the only one we have caught to date yet this season!

Nixon got a pole for his birthday and knows right what to do!

Winnings and Beginnings

Nixon learned to ride his bike with out training wheels!

Paige and her friend Mia won a special recognition medal for their science fair project. They built catapults and tested the difference of number of bands used for resistance.

Simon won a T-shirt design contest at school and got a $25 gift card to Toys R Us. He drew the design they picked to be on all the T-shirts for the Fun Run Fundraiser they do at school in June. His design is on all the paper work and shirts! He was shocked and excited he won.

Nixon started swimming lessons and is doing great!

Paige has started Piano lessons and loves it.

Birthday Birthday Time

Nixon turned 5 in April. Can't believe he is 5 already. He had a Mariner's Baseball theme party.

Our Pinata didn't quite work out Nixon was the only one that got to hit it. It wouldn't stay on the string so we ended up doing it soccer style and letting the kids kick it. Hey ya gotta do what ya gotta do to get the candy out right?!

Good old pin the tail on the donkey!

Tossing the baseballs into the buckets!

He got a fishing pole, chair and hat just like Dad for his birthday. The next day was nice so we hit the water to try and catch some fish. Isn't he cute. All three kiddos love fishing like their Dad. We are a fishing family, I love it too.

Miss Paige turned 11 !!!!!!! Yikes! Can't believe that either. We went to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner with 2 of her friends and then a movie and sleep over. They gave her a huge thing of ice cream but didn't sing. :-( Which is probably good or I may have gotten in trouble for embarrassing her!

At the movies. We saw Rio, very cute movie!

Ummmm Paige your cake looks on fire! 11 star candles can put out some flames! She had a DQ ice cream cake.

The next day we had a family Birthday dinner for her at the Old Spaghetti Factory which was lots of fun!

Mother's Day is where I will end this post. We had lunch with Mom and Larry, Dad and Pat, Steve and Jaime and kiddos at Claim Jumpers. Tim and the kids gave me a very beautiful diamond Mother and Child necklace. Thank you Simon I know it was your idea to get me a necklace!

Hope this finds you all doing great! Until Next Time!!
