Birthdays...Honor Roll...Prom...& Drivers ED!

All kinds of big things going on for us lately! Scroll down for all the fun pictures of it all!

Simon ended the 3rd Quarter with making Honor Roll again and we couldn't be prouder! He also had his Spring concert for band and did great and was recognized during it for making the County Honors Band earlier. We were also proud of him that he sits first chair!! Warms my heart how well he is doing with the trumpet and enjoys it and excels at it.
Nixon turned 9 in April! Can't believe our baby is 9 already. We enjoyed celebrating him by taking cupcakes into his class, then cake and presents at home and on the weekend went to MacDaddy's for Go Karts, arcade games and dinner! Yesterday Nixon came home very excited that he went up 3 reading levels to level J and he needs to get to P.  Most of you know he has a visual processing issue so reading has been very very tough for him.  We have hired a wonderful tutor for him in addition to the help he gets at school.  He had a rough couple weeks a couple weeks ago so it's nice to see him excited and realizing how the extra "work" as tough as it is, is helping.

   Simon's Honor Roll Awards Ceremony

For breakfast we surprised him with chocolate doughnut holes with sprinkles!

Cupcakes in class and they sang to him

He takes after his Dad and loves Lemon cake with Lemon frosting so I made him his very own this year like Dad gets!

                     Go Kart time!!!

    Let the games begin!

Talk about a great Birthday dinner out and you get to sit and eat on a couch while watching TV!

I caught the first fish of the season for our family out on the dock in our neighborhood. We are so excited it's fishing season again!

Simon's Spring Concert. We are truly proud of him!

Now on to Prom!  What already?! Paige and a group of girls and 2 boys from our church went to Prom up in Raleigh (about 3 hours away). Some of us Mom's and the girls' youth leader went and we stayed in a hotel for the night just down the road from where the prom was held.  We had a great time riding up and back with friends and sharing a room with one of the girls and her Mom. The mom's helped the girls get ready then drove them to the Prom. It was amazing and fancier than any prom I could imagine. Literally like out of a movie. It's for homeschool kids and this was it's 6th or 7th year and has over 250 kids attend. It's put on at an event center with dinner and dancing and a full candy dessert bar. The decor was amazing like better than wedding formal! The theme was Enchanted Forest. They had all kinds of photo ops spots. Parents could go in for the first half hour and last 15 mins. So we took tons of pictures while we could. Then the moms went out for dinner and hung out til pick up time. The kids had an absolute blast and stayed up all night in the hotel lobby! Paige had a huge smile the whole time and really enjoyed herself!!

At the hotel ready to get ready! Paige had me do her hair and she did her makeup.  It took me about 2 hours to curl all her hair. For not having much hair when she was little she has plenty thick now.

Ta Da after a couple hours this Beautiful Girl was ready!
This is the group that we all stayed together then 3 girls were at another hotel. This is a great group of teens we are so incredibly blessed to be at our church.
Ready for her big night. And yes she has crazy high heels on, she is only 1 or 2 inches taller than me.

I think this was my favorite picture I snapped. I don't know how they grow up so fast.

This was their table and the dance floor was to the left.
They said they danced the entire time. One person ran to the dessert table and loaded a plate for them all to share and kept on dancing.
This is Caitlyn her amazing youth leader who cares so much for her group of girls. She surprised Paige with a cookie cake for her birthday and they all sang to her. Totally caught Paige by surprise.

Which brings us to our oldest turned 15 this yesterday! Crazy I tell ya.  It seems like just yesterday she was a little toddler playing with her toys and carrying around her little books.

Dad was out of town so we saved the cake til today and went for frozen yogurt YUM! Ok so real truth I forgot to take her cake we made out of freezer so it was still too frozen to eat. However frozen yogurt was always the plan but after the cake. We were to full and decided to save it for the next day when Tim got home.
Her Vegan No Bake Carrot Cake she has been waiting forever to make!

And last but not least she started Drivers ED this week! Crazy Crazy I don't know if I am ready for all this.  We feel very blessed at what a wonderful young lady Paige continues to grow up to be!
