Christmas and New Years 2016

Here are pictures from our Christmas season 2016. It was Tim's turn to be sick.  Paige was sick the whole month of November and Tim was December!  The boys and I got lucky and only got a touch of colds.  We missed our church Christmas service and a couple Sundays but did get to go to the Christmas play before the colds kicked in.  We are all healthy now! So many people around here were sick that at church one Sunday in early Jan. they skipped the greeting part so people wouldn't have to shake hands! The weather here has been crazy with 30 degree changes in 24 hours multiple times.  No wonder everyone is getting sick. One day around Christmas we went from in the teens to the next day 72.  So strange.  But that didn't stop us from enjoying Christmas!

I will start off with Paige got her Driver's License over Christmas Break!

Time to Decorate for Christmas!!
Nixon helped Tim hang all the high lights this year!

It's always so hard to get a picture of lights, they never turn out.  The lights are all multi colored except around the front door are white.  It looks like the windows are on fire but it's actually 3 lit up things in each window, like snowman and candy canes and then multi colored lights around the window.

So we have this little dead tree in our front yard and Nixon had the wonderful idea to hang a big red ornament on it so it looks like a Charlie Brown tree! The next morning on the bus all his friends recognized it right away!

Front door

The hearth has been decorated!  Out with Thanksgiving and in with Christmas!

I had to put our Nativity Scene up on top of my Grandmother/Mom's Curio Cabinet.  It was the only place I had that would fit it.  I miss all the bookshelves we had in Beaufort!

Christmas exploded in every available spot in the kitchen!

We don't have a picture of us picking out a tree this year.  We were blessed by Trees for Troops, where people or families buy trees for military members.  A family in GA bought ours and it was a blessing to us!  One of the best trees we have ever had, it hardly dropped any needles.

Nixon and I decorated most of the tree this year.

Simon did put his ornaments on.

And Paige did a few too!

Decorations are all up!  I forgot to take pictures of all the garland going up the stairs and in the kitchen around the back door, whoops!

Simon got to march in his second parade!  He had little LED lights wound all around his trumpet.  It was fun to see him in the Brighton Christmas Parade.

Simon's Christmas Band Concert

Paige was helping Simon make a gift for a friend

Nixon ran for the first time with Tim. 3.2 miles and did a great job, ran 10 minute miles.

We went to a Christmas play dinner theater at church.  It was neat. The play took place in an Italian restaurant. So, they turned the sanctuary into a restaurant with tables and served an Italian dinner while you watched the play.

Santa came to Cub Scouts.

Downtown Memphis at the Peabody Hotel
They had a cool Gingerbread display but I didn't take a pic!  Sorry this is blurry but it's the only picture of us I got!
