More of our Travels...

We have driven through some major stormy weather but made it through just fine!  Hopefully the rain will stop when we get to Disney.  We are now in the last of 15 states on our trip!!  Nixon has even gotten to sleep in real beds!  Of course he just chose to sleep on the top of the cushions to the hide a bed in our room.  Why not he is still small enough and then they each get their own bed LOL.

We are bummed to miss my Aunt and Uncle we were supposed to stay two nights with them but they have a very contagious case of influenza A at their house.  We were a day or more behind where we thought we would be so we changed our route a bit and will spend the weekend still at my cousin Molly's. I am sure we will be seeing my Aunt and Uncle while we are stationed at GTMO since we can take military flights to Jacksonville and that's only a couple hours from them.  So at least we know we will see them.  One of the places Tim surprised us with was a stop and tour of GRACELAND oh boy was that fun.  Our kids now understand who Elvis is!!

Here are some fun pictures to bring this up to date....

So cute Sleepy heads

All three were napping. This was on a long day in the car, 9 hours I think.

Finally 3 beds woohoo and some fans cuz air conditioner wasn't working and it's the hot south!

Our kids now know that it wasn't always acceptable to shake you hips on TV!  Thank you Tim for the surprise visit to Graceland!!

This is the mansion

If at Elvis' house why not eat dinner in a Cadillac!

Simon was impressed and liked his hair so did his to match!

Oh Yay another room with 3 beds!!!! This had an awesome really long couch that only part of it pulled out into a bed.  Really cool never seen anything like it before.

Paige asked for the map and was showing her brothers where we started and where we were and how far to go we had left.  It was so sweet and warmed out hearts to hear her.

In Georgia we stopped on a little rural country road at this little fruit stand and got some real Georgia peaches from a very sweet older woman.  Felt good to support her since a few blocks down we saw a much bigger fruit stand.  She talked us into some blueberries too!

I can't even count how many cracker barrels we have stopped at!  We started stopping at them in Utah and the whole way we have.  Nixon now asks when he's hungry "Can we stop at the next Cracker Barrel and get food?"  This one we stopped just for a potty break so the boys played their usual game of checkers while Tim and I ran into the restrooms.  The ladies were so sweet they filled my cup with sweet tea for me.  Oh man I love sweet tea and it flows in the south like water!

The boys saw their first gator in Florida and instantly took care of it!

Yay another room with a hide a bed....

This is one of the biggest rooms yet even had a little dining table.  For people with more than 2 kids Holiday Inn Express and Suites has very much impressed us.  We have been using points we have saved up so the suites have been great.  Not sure what the full price is.
We have been blessed for the places we haven't used points people have given us very nice military discounts.  One thing I have learned so far on this trip is that there are very kind people in this country.  And one thing about the south is southern hospitality you always hear about is very real and old fashioned manners are still around.   I was walking into a Cracker Barrel in Georgia and there was an older couple a little ways ahead of me and he held the door for his wife and then stood there then looked over at me and sweetly said "well come on get in here" I said thank you and at the same moment Tim was walking out and the man stood there and kept holding the door til Tim was out and looked at Tim and said, "Good afternoon Sir."  You don't get that everywhere.  More often then not you just get people rushing in and out of places, they may hold the door for you but not say anything.  It was a neat moment and just another reminder of how nice people can be and are.  I am in no way saying that there are not nice people back home or anything like that.  You just watch the news these days and it's all gloom and doom and all the adds are rush rush buy this do that.  It's nice to see life slowed down a bit and no rush and just good old manners!

Well that's it for now I will post more later.... Next is my Cousin and her family can't wait to see her two little girls.  They were at my Grandmas the same 10 days Paige and I were when my Grandpa passed away.  She has two sweet little girls and so my kids are looking forward to seeing them and how much the baby has grown in just a few months!  Then it will be off to Disney if I can even walk after all this time sitting in the car LOL.  I think I will need to restart my physical therapy I think everything I did has been undone!
