Branson Missouri
2017
We stayed in Branson Missouri for a week and had a blast. It was nice to get out of town and spend some time as a family just having fun! We squeezed in a lot in just a week from shopping and a show to a Silver Dollar City roller coaster theme park, hiking and more. This is the Ozark Mountains country and wow were they beautiful and we sure do miss mountains!
| We were not planning on hiking but saw a sign on the side of the road for a 1-mile trail and thought, "why not?" |
| The boys had a blast and were gone in 2 seconds! We finally caught up with them! |
| So glad we stopped! We haven't been around mountains in so long we were reminded of how much we miss them! |
Attractions a plenty...
| We started with Ripley's Believe It or Not |
| Optimus Prime |
| Giant version of the game operation! You thought you jumped when it buzzed on the regular size game you should check this one out LOL |
| World's Largest Roll of Toilet Paper |
| Who doesn't love a shooting gallery?! |
| World's Largest Ball of String |
| Iron Man |
| Next up was Silver Dollar City, very fun amusement park! We really enjoyed all of it and it offers a ton of things to do besides all the awesome roller coasters. |
| This was one you had to move your self up and down. We raced the boys. |
| They probably won :) |
| Sometimes simple is the best! For this, you turn the crank for the water and try to get your frog across first. |
| So this is the best snack food ever! It's a Potatoe swirled around a hot dog and it's fried so they are like chips all on a stick of course! |
| Next up was a 1-hour cave tour. They have a huge expanse of caves and give tours free with your admission! |
| We hiked way way way down through many rooms and some very small spaces! |
| This was the Cathedral Room |
| Towards the end, we came into this big open waterfall room. Then we got to take a tram all the way back up! |
| They offer a few shows and one of them is the Harlem Globetrotters! |
| Another show was after the park closed they had a 1.5-hour show in this outdoor theater. They sang popular songs from the different decades mixed with some comedy bits in between and ended with a gospel portion. |
| Many wardrobe changes through out the show! This was a patriotic tribute. |
| This was one of Nixon's favorite rides and we probably rode it the most. You get a gun and have to shoot at all the targets as you go through and see who racks up the most points. |
| Nixon also loves water rides! This is all 3 on this one. |
| Another water ride they all 3 enjoyed! Kinda nice when they are old enough Mom and Dad don't have to get soaked if they don't want to! :) |
| This is one of those vortex houses and man does it mess with your mind! That wasn't my camera at a funny angle that is how the room leans. Have to admit Tim and I started not feeling too well from it. Getting older is just great LOL! |
| Petting zoo with Goats!!! |
| Another trip on the water ride for the boys! |
We rode some big and fast roller coasters but obviously couldn't take our phones so no pictures just fun memories in our minds!
Fun theme restaurants around town...
| We ate at Pasghetti's where they have the World's Largest meatball! (yes I spelled it right) |
| Felt like we were in Vegas or something. Love how they make it feel like you are in a city. |
| Another favorite was Cakes N Creams 50's style diner! |
| I think that was my favorite place, Yummy treats and really felt like you stepped back into the 50's. |
| Tim took me to the show Broadway's Greatest Hits! The kids didn't really care to go so we went just the two of us. |
| I loved it all, they sang songs from all the best of Broadway. Cats, My fair lady, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mary Poppins, Oklahoma, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and so many more. The set changes and costume changes were so impressive! |
| A walk downtown with some shopping! Loved the old 5 and dime store! |
| Night time swim for the boys! |
| Some nighttime tennis fun for Me, Paige and Tim while the boys were playing ping pong and foosball. |
| Day time swim fun! |
Our last attraction we did was
Fritz' Indoor Adventure
Indoor adventure is right! It has ramps from the American Ninja Warrior show, underground tunnels to crawl through, rock climbing wall, Telephone Poles and Ladders to climb, a big 3 or 4 level suspended ropes course that ends with a zip line, slides and an airplane to climb up into that is suspended in the air. Very cool place!
| Nixon running up the ramp! |
| Simon made it up almost every time! |
| Nixon made it to the top but just couldn't quite pull himself up and over. Tim got this one and then tried the tallest one. We won't show his attempt of the tallest one LOL. He gave it a good try though! |
| There were all kinds of rope ladders and slides and things to climb on all over the place. |
| This is just part of the ropes course. |
| Full-size airplane with 2 ways up. Of course we didn't know that at first so Paige and I crawled through this tower of rope ladders and then crawled through this small tube that to be honest didn't feel nice on the knees only to get into the plane and the worker said oh that was the way for little kids, kills your knees there are stairs right over there! Oh well, at least we are both short! |
| Inside the plane. I will admit the kid in me said, "Hey Paige lets pretend we are in the Madagascar Movie!" and then I proceeded to push every button and pull every lever. She can be glad that at least I didn't start singing I like to move it move it! :) |
| This is Tim climbing the Power Pole in the middle and me climbing the ladder on the right side of the wall. |
| Then we switched! The Power Pole was made with rebar and man did my hands hurt afterward. Much harder than I thought it would be to climb it. |
Thank you, Branson, for a wonderful week! We had a blast and to be honest it is the most military friendly place we have ever been. A very patriotic town who constantly honors the military.
