March 2024

 March Family Visit 2024

Angela's Dad, Tim's Mom, Larry, and Tim's oldest brother Mike came out for his retirement and stayed 10 days. We showed them around DC. Mom and Larry had been out before for Simon's graduation but this was Grandpa Joe's (Angela's Dad) first time out here.

Mike came a couple days before our parents. He gave Tim some fly rods and taught Tim, myself, and Nixon how to fly fish. Tim had already done it but not Nixon and I.

I was teasing them that they are so old they have to stand that close to a big screen tv just to read the words.

They sent this from the airport on their way here!

This is the first time since about 2012 that I will get to spend more than just a few hours with my Dad!

Nixon playing poker with Grandpa Joe and Grandpa Larry.

We had a full day of sightseeing!

My Dad's first time in Washington DC.

We took turns in a wheelchair. Larry decided it was my turn.

They were here for peak cherry blossom season!

Nixon came on this day.

The Marine Corps Museum at Quantico.

It's big pizza time!

My Dad and I had to balance it on our heads on the way home. We were laughing so much!

Grandpa Larry and Grandpa Joe ready for Benny's pizza!

Love love love having my Dad here.

A nice night for a fire.

Roasting marshmallows, one of Grandma Lynne's favorite things to do.

Mom and two of her boys.

They sent us this back on the plane headed home. I laughed so hard! This is my favorite Grandpa Larry picture! We had such a nice time with them and miss them so much!

Guess what time it is?  Opening day of Mariners baseball 2024!

They caught the fly fishing bug!

A day on the water in their kayaks

Lemon wants to fish too! Paige had to get creative so she wouldn't open the top of the tank.

We pretty much come out to Dalton Pond to throw the line in every single evening. We have fun keeping a tally of all the wildlife we pass on the way out there. Our highest total in one day is 34 deer, 2 rabbits, two or 3 turkeys, a bunch of turtles, and a fox. We also have seen beavers, eagles, and bats. Speaking of turtles we have one that we are pretty sure comes and visits us daily. We named him Jeremy. He pops up and down way faster than the others and always comes up close to us.
