May, June, and mid July 2023

May through mid July 2023

Mina gets on the banister and tries to catch her tail! She does this all the time and it is so hilarious to watch. We don't know how she doesn't fall off.

Piper and Mina trying to get to know each other. Piper tends to just growl and hiss at her.

Nice day out to have lunch at one of our favorite spots.

Nixon and I checked out some fishing spots along the Rappahannock River.
Another day, Tim sneakily snapped a picture!

Nixon got his driver's license and his first car! 2000 Ford Ranger!

Introducing Lemon!
This is Nixon's kitten. She is just 6 weeks old and the cutest little thing! She was born not too long after Tucker passed. One of Nixon's friend's cats was about to have kittens and they asked if he wanted one. He was so excited and patiently waited for her to be born and able to leave the mom.  Well, he made it 6 weeks instead of 8 and the two of them have absolutely bonded and Nixon is her person!
Look at that cute little face. Her pink nose and big eyes.  She is a tortie.
She is just so small and cute.

I was in the room alone and kept feeling like someone was watching me.
Nobody was in the room.  After a few minutes, I noticed this little face planning an attack on me!

Learning to play with toys.

She is ready to go fishing with Nixon.

This is her favorite toy which is about as big as she is and she attacks the heck out of it.

Her little bed on his desk.

This guy has caught the fishing bug big time!

These two fish every second they can.

Checking out a local brewery called 6 Bears and A Goat. Owned by 6 retired Coasties and one Navy. For those who don't know the Coast Guard Academy's mascot is a bear and the Navy's is a goat.

A nice sunny day out at Lunga.

I fish with them most of the time too!

Lake Arrowhead.  Nice little spot not far from where we live.

Our 29th Anniversary!

We celebrated with a wine tasting and dinner at Potomac Point Winery.

Rappahannock River

Fishing pretty much every day!

Tried an amazing restaurant, The Black Sheep.

Working hard!

Much more fun than working!

Angela's Grandmother is a SPAR. She was in the Coast Guard during WWII. She was even the same rate (SK) as Tim. Tim reached out to the Chief's mess out there, and for her 99th birthday, the CG had a celebration for her. They took her and some of the family out on a boat along with a tour of the station and gave her a cake and gifts.  Unfortunately, we were unable to make it out to Oregon for it. But we enjoyed all the pictures!

Grammy and Angela's Dad in the front and her Aunt Renee and Uncle Terry on the sides.

Paige's cat taught Nixon's cat that if a cup is sitting with water it's theirs to drink. Oh Boy!

look at that face!

This is our favorite fishing spot.  Dalton Pond on Base Quantico.

Oh Boy, it's fighting time.

Lemon just watches the other two cats and tries to learn to do what they do.

She is getting bigger so fast.

Graduation Time!

Nixon graduated a year early!  He only had 2 classes left and they agreed to allow him to do both in the summer school timeframe so he can be done and graduate. It was the best decision he made for himself and we couldn't be prouder of him!

Sharing his big day with his favorite kitty!

Proud parents!

This is Mrs. Whitehead. She is by far the best teacher and staff member at Mountain View HS. Nixon has had her since his freshman year and they share an amazing bond. She postponed a family trip to be able to be at his graduation. They didn't allow her to give him his diploma (she tried) so she took the very first seat as the kids came off the stage so she could hug him right away.

Time to celebrate!

Lemon wants to be part of the action!

Well done Nixon, now to start a new chapter in life!
